Regnard GRAND REGNARD Chablis AC

This wine is a classic Chablis colour, bright, pale-straw accented with green. On the nose it is elegant and fresh with notes of green apples, lemon and apricot, its has a notable, intense aroma. On the palate it is rich, rounded and mellow. There is ample, ripe, lemony fruit and white peaches. The finish is long and freshened by balanced acidity leaving some dried fruit characters at the end. A truly modern style of Chablis reflecting the innovation of the House of Regnard. (12 x 75 cl)

A fine, rich, gold colour, this wine is still young, but has great intensity on the nose with floral herbaceouness backed by a slatey mineral character. In the mouth it is full and rounded with rich, ripe fruit and a mineral edge, balanced with bracing acidity. It has the longest ageing potential of the Premier Crus and will be age for 10 years quite happily. (12 x 75 cl)

Guy Mothe built up the highly successful Domaine de Colombier by starting with a tiny holding and then acquiring small parcels of land that came up for sale over the years culminating in 33 hectares of vineyards. Most of the vineyards are dedicated to the production of AC Chablis, although there are significant holdings in 1er Cru Fourchaume and Grand Cru Bougros. The straight Chablis benefits from vines on the Grand Cru side of the river, giving them a buttery richness that balances their natural acidity. (24 x 37.5 cl)
