Thomson Vintners is a family owned company, based at Waikerie in South Australia's Riverland Region. The Thomson family have been growing grapes in the area for over 75 years and are considered one of the regions best vignerons. There are approximately 700 acres under vine and with clean dry air, open space, fresh river water combined with iron rich Terra Rossa soil promoting healthy disease free vineyards. Abundant in sunshine and cleansing dry breezes the warm spring and a dry summer creating ideal growing conditions, while the grapes are harvested in the cool of the night to ensure optimum fruit quality. The fruit is highly regarded for its excellent fruit intensity owing to the age of the vineyard. The blending of Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo wines produces an elegant fruit driven wine with good acid balance making it an excellent food wine. The blend features a larger percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon than that of Tempranillo; however, the Tempranillo fruit is prominent with a peppery, almost floral, perfumed bouquet with raspberry fruit. This chardonnay displays ripe melon and citrus aromas and flavours, which are typical of the region. The palate is full of clean fresh fruit complemented by a touch of spice from sparingly used French oak, while the balanced acidity provides a lingering finish to the wine. (12 x 75 cl)

Sarantos and Constantina Moularadellis developed a small vineyard and founded Kingston Estate during the 1960s and 1970s, they brought the food-and-wine-loving traditions of their sun drenched Greek homeland to the equally sun-drenched Riverland district of South Australia. The wine shows good depth, being medium red to red/purple in colour. On the nose there is abundant raspberry, cherry and plum jam characters. These continue onto the palate which is rich and warm with soft fleshy tannins, fresh berry fruit and a hint of sweet French oak. After crushing,the juice was fermented on skins with pumpovers daily to ensure maximum extraction of colour and flavour. The wine was matured with 75%French oak and 25%American oak. (12 x 75 cl)

This wine is made from fruit grown on the historic 150 year old Turkey Flat vineyard. The Cabernet Sauvignon vines are planted on the river flat near the cellar door where they thrive on deep soils without the need for irrigation. Cabernet Sauvignon vines produce fruit of exceptional richness and concentration when grown in sites such as this. What sets Cabernet Sauvignon apart is its ability to travel, to set down its roots in distant lands and still produce something that is recognisably Cabernet, whatever the circumstances and conditions. Whilst the Barossa Valley has largely earned its reputation for making 'big' reds with the Shiraz grape variety, this wine is certainly proof that the Barossa can produce Cabernet with power and concentration. This is a wine of intensity, elegance and long term ageing potential, displaying classic Cabernet aromatics of red and black currants, a touch of olive, blueberries, cedar, spice and subtle tobacco notes. Perfectly focused and balanced; very good tannin and oak management. Whilst full bodied and intense, this wine has a fine even structure and slick ripe tannins from extended maceration on skins. Complex fruit flavours of ripe red and black berry fruits, bay leaf and bracken are under lain by subtle oak, derived cake spice, caf© au lait and cedar notes. (6 x 75 cl)

Sarantos Chardonnay is a wine specifically designed to complement and reflect the easy-going relaxed lifestyle we Australian 's enjoy today. Whether this wine is enjoyed with friends at many of the thousands of Al fresco styled cafes that we have embraced as a nation,or whether it be a quiet night at home relaxing;Sarantos Chardonnay is the perfect partner for any occasion. The criterion for putting this wine together was that it must have universal appeal and above all must be easy to drink.For this we looked towards viticultural areas that we knew would provide us Chardonnay fruit that would be complementary to one another.Consequently we decided on the full rich fruit flavours derived from the Riverland and Sunraysia areas.By night harvesting and only using the free run juice for this Chardonnay we have produced a wine delicate and full of fruit flavours. The use of static fermenters,neutral yeasts and cold fermentation over a period of 2 to 3 weeks, has produced a clean,crisp,contemporay style of Chardonnay. With only 5%French Oak treatment just a hint of added flavour complexity has also been achieved. The result is a wine light straw in colour,with wonderful peach and tropical fruit aromas.The palate is dry and crisp with a clean elegant finish reminiscent of lychee and melon.With just a hint of acid on the finish,this wine is a delight to drink.
