Ruby coloured wine with light glints. The light sauvignon aroma unveils a beautiful intensity of fruits, opened by the Merlot. It is rich, plump and well rounded with lots of volume and long lasting finish on the palate.
Predominantly Merlot based with plum, spice and a good balance of tannins. Eric Duffau established this small estate in 1979 on the slopes facing Saint-Emillion. Grapes are hand picked at their optimum maturity, crushed and left on their skins for up to 4 weeks depending on their vintage. During fermentation they are kept at a constant 30 degrees and stirred twice a day. The wine goes into either cuvees for 12 to 18 months or barriques for 12 months and is opened to the air every 3 months until the winemaker decides it is time to make the final blend. (12 x 75 cl)
A superb blend of noble grape varieties has produced this fine elegant wine. It is supple and full bodied with fine tannins and an aromatic finish. (12 x 75 cl)
