From the excellent Cru Bourgeois Chateau Meyney and made to be quicker maturing. Typically full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon style with 18 months in barriques.
Organic, vegetarian. Noticeably clean and soft-fruited Claret with an uncomplicated and approachable ripeness in the mouth. The wine itself is unoaked, leaving the flavour to be expressed by the blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 25% Caberne (12 x 75 cl)
Organic, vegetarian. Nice yeasty aroma and delightful citrus flavour give this wine an intriguing character. Light and crisp in style, it is a superb all-rounder. Jean da Fre has a small chateau south of Bordeaux and this dry white is a blend of his Semil (12 x 75 cl)
Overlooking the Gironde estuary this wine is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. One of the oldest estates in the Médoc. In 1662 it was a convent which the archives refer to as the Convent des Feuilles or the Pricure des Couleys. Today the estate stretches over a series of hillocks and the nearness of the river, flowing so close to the first rows of vines, gives the landscape a majestic air. The estate belonged to the same family for several generations, until Mr. Daniel Cordier became the owner in 1919, and still remains under Domaines Cordier today. The wine is fermented in glass lined vats and Clarified with egg whites. The wine is aged in large oak casks for the first year and barrel aged the second year. Very dark garnet color. Toasty cassis and tobacco-leaf aromas, a bit closed but pleasant and complex. Black fruit flavor and lemony acidity behind a heavy curtain of tannins. Balanced, possible to glimpse its potential, especially as it opens up to toasty fruit and bitter chocolate (12 x 75 cl)
