Description:
This Fairtrade white wine is 100% hand harvested and once it has been assembled it will spend between two and four months in French oak barrels. This has produced a goldish green coloured wine with an intense rich aroma of fresh herbs and flowers typical of this variety.
Elegant, fruity, well balanced in structure and acidity which you can note on the palate, this is a wine with good persistance of oak, smooth, complex and spicy through to the enjoyable finish.
Fruit for this Fairtrade Sauvignon is sourced from over 60 growers who are members of the Los Robles co-operative which was set up by local farmers, following a devastating earthquake, to help rebuild their community through projects such as vineyard irrigation, housing and education. A Sauvignon Blanc showing a clean, crisp and citrussy style with a fresh finish. (12 x 75 cl)
This Fairtrade red wine is 100% hand harvested Carmenere grapes that are aged between four to six months in American oak barrels. This has produced an intense plummy red coloured wine with an elegant, fine, fruity aroma of berries and plums, with notes of chocolate, caramel and pepper. A well balanced wine displaying a heavy fruity presence of mature red fruits while the oak ageing highlights the wooded overtones. A toasty, spicy flavoured Carmenere the palate of tobacco and bacon dominates through to the smooth finish. (12 x 75 cl)
In 1939, when an earthquake devestated the Curico Valley in Central Chile the Los Robles Co-operative was formed to help rebuild the local community. Today, the Co-operative ensures local small-scale farmers receive a fair price for their grapes and through the fairtrade scheme earn a sustainable livelihood through export trade. Los Robles was recently nominated as the 'Best Chilean Winery' and this Single Varietal wine shows why. 100% Carmenere and harvested by hand, once in the winery this wine stays four to six months in American oak barrels before release. This has produced an intense plummy red colour with an elegant, fine, fruity aroma of berries and plums, with notes of chocolate, caramel and pepper. A well balanced wine with a heavy fruity presence of mature red fruits with wood overtones, as well as a toasty, spicy flavour that gives way to a long soft finish of this enjoyable Fairtrade wine. (12 x 75 cl)
