2006 Collavini BROY Bianco DOC Collio Name: Collavini BROY Bianco DOC Collio - 2006 Where it's from:  >Italy >Friuli-Venezia Giulia >Collio (Goriziano) Price per case: £140.41  Bottle size: 75 cl Bottles per case: 6 Style: Fruity Dry Whites Grapes: Tocai Friulano / Chardonnay / Sauvignon Blanc Description: In 1896 Eugenio Collavini, the founder, first supplied to the best Udinese's families his wines without ever imagining that a century later they would reach the world over The grapes, carefully chosen amongst the over-ripened bunches, are gathered separately on special grid trays. Only the Tocai Friulano and the Chardonnay grapes are then concentrated in a modern temperature and humidity controlled fruit-cell. The Sauvignon grapes are gently pressed and the juice maintained at a low temperature in order to block fermentation. The pressing of Tocai Friulano and Chardonnay grapes then follows, before these three are then fermented together in small oak barrels from the Allier forest, that are perfectly aged and toasted. The wine is bottled and rests for further 3-4 months before release. The wine is a blend of Tocai Friulano, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanch and has a deep golden yellow colour with aromas of sweet acacia and vanilla that integrate well with the tropical fruit notes. This wine presents a full body, round, harmonious and long with lingering aromas.
