Today Chateau Batailley is owned by Emile Casteja of the famous negociants, Borie-Manoux. The estate covers 55 hectares with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes. The terrior is a based on a gravel bed, with clay and limestone subsoil. Vinification takes place in a mixture of oak, stainless steel, and cement vats, followed by 18 months maturation in oak barriques of which 50% are new. A deep red coloured wine it is well balanced with aromas of oak that lead onto the palate, it is a sophisticated wine with a good finish. Available in Original Wooden Case.
