This Soave Classico is vibrant straw yellow in colour, with delicate perfumes reminiscent of almond blossom and marzipan. On the palate, it is soft textured with good depth of fruit balanced by a zingy acidity that lingers on the finish. The Garganega gives structure and acidity to the wine, while the Trebbiano di Soave gives perfume and richness of flavour. It has a richness that is unusual in this wine at such an early stage, and yet the acidity and aroma that will enable the wine to age beautifully.. Nobody else has spent the past 35 years getting to know Garganega and the vineyards of Soave Classico in the same intimate detail as Nino Pieropan. He then ensures that his work in the cellar retains and amplifies the quality and style provided by the vineyard. The vineyards are planted primarily with Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave . This Soave Classico is a bright, very pale gold colour, with youthful greenish lights. On the nose it is delicately perfumed, with aromas of white flowers, and almondy notes characteristic of good Soave Classico. The Garganega gives structure and acidity to the wine, while the Trebbiano di Soave gives perfume and richness of flavour. This was an excellent vintage, producing wines with a beautiful balance of fruit and zesty freshness which lasts through to the finish.
