Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Valpantena Superiore DOC

Dominated by 80% Corvina Veronese and 20% Rondinella this classic dessert wine is made from carefully selected, fully ripened grapes that, immediately following harvest, are partially dried in farmhouses on traditional straw mats called "arelle" for up to 150 days to concentrate the sugars. The resulting wine is aged for 18 months in Allier barriques followed by a period of refinement in bottle. Brilliant purple coloured wine with a compelling fragrance that mingles classic notes of prune, raspberry, spice, hay and cocoa. Full-bodied, rich and enjoyably sweet, the residual sugar is perfectly balanced against a backbone of fruit and fine tannins, with lingering flavors of wild berries, chocolate and licorice. Unique sparkling red dessert wine made from partially dried grapes. After 2-3 years in oak,the charmat method is used to add sparkle to this lightly sweet wine with flavours of plums and ripe red fruits. (6 x 75 cl)

The wine is a deep violet colour. Immediately perceptible to the nose is a multitude of aromas from the classical notes of plum, cherry, raspberry and spices to vanillas, hay and liquorice. In the mouth it is full, fragrant and intense. The sugar content is not too high leaving a long finish of berries, chocolate and liquorice. (1 x 75 cl)

Aged for 2 years in wood. 25% in barrique and 75% in large barrels. Deepish ruby red, full flavoured with good plumy fruit, a touch of vanilla from the wood, and a hint of spice. Mouth filling lasting finish. (24 x 37.5 cl)
