Description:
Montevina's Fume Blanc exhibits an unmistakable varietal aroma of fresh, bright, citrus fruit and cut melon scents enlivened by the smoky, grassy tones characteristic of the Sauvignon Blanc grape when grown in a cool region. The rich, spicy grapefruit flavors are brisk and zesty, leading to a crisp, spicy aftertaste. This distinctive dry white wine is an excellent choice for vegetarian, seafood, and chicken dishes, as well as herb-flavored pastas and mildly-spiced Asian cuisines.
This Zinfandel exhibits a super-ripe aroma of raisined berry fruit and tremendously rich, extracted, mouthfilling flavors. Despite its high alcohol, it is remarkably well-balanced with surprisingly soft tannins and excellent acidity. This is a terrifically robust red wine to pair with grilled steaks, barbecued ribs, hearty, spicy pastas and stews, and flavourful cheeses like aged sharp cheddars, bleu, and Stilton. (12 x 75 cl)
This Sauvignon Blanc has expressive fresh aromas of ripe figs, green peppers and Cape gooseberry. With a rich mid-palate and a long finish, this wine has been made to be enjoyed with food. Fermented at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks for 16 days. Kept on fine lees for 4 months. (6 x 75 cl)
A lively Sauvignon with crisp gooseberry characters, some minerality on the palate and a pure fruit finish. False Bay Producer Information & Tasting Notes Owned by Boutinot UK, False Bay Winery is a company that has grown out of 10 years involvement in South Africa, which began at a time when their wines and potential was just being recognised. With knowledge and respect within the South African wine industry, Paul Boutinot has been able to source top quality grapes for the re-launch of False Bay. We furthermore have the advantage of having a permanent team in South Africa headed by CEO Jean du Toit, who also oversees our winemaking operations. First discovered by sailors confusing it for Table Bay to the north, False Bay has long been a haven for those navigating the treacherous Cape of Good Hope. The cool coastal breeze which sweeps off the Indian Ocean temper the ripening process, extend the growing season and produce expressive wines with more precise varietal characters and purity. These lifted aromas make the wines accessible, perfectly balanced and full flavoured (12 x 75 cl)
Zesty citrus, grapefruit and lemongrass on the nose with lemon-lime flavours and peppery spice on the palate. The crisp finish has delicious, refreshing hints of gooseberry and passion-fruit. (12 x 75 cl)
