Description:
The wine is powerful and rich, characterized by smoothness and balance. The color is shiny yellow straw. The nose is delicate and aromatic, affected by notes of flowers and pepper. It develops in the mouth softly, without heaviness and great harmony. Collected when overripe the residual sugars are considerable although they remain unobtrusive.
This wine is very elegant and has the potential of a late noble harvest. The nose is refined and pleasing, typical of its vine plant and implies over ripeness. The attack is supple, with a light, smooth mouthfeel. The sugar is perfectly incorporated. The finish is on soft and delicious licorice. It has a very nice balance between sugar and alcohol. (12 x 75 cl)
The Pinot Gris, previously called Tokay d'Alsace, is one of the oldest Alsace grapes. The varietal is characterised by buttery, smoky aromas and powerfully intense flavours. A fruity wine offering a subtle, complex bouquet with honey aromas. Luscious fruit flavours accented with cream, vanilla and almond. Good natural acidity. An elegant and supple wine, it is suitable for all occasions. Enjoyable now, but can easily be kept 6-8 years. (12 x 75 cl)
This wine is refined and complex, not heavy, with consistent aromas. This exceptional vintage can be appreciated anytime and will please collectors of high-class wines. The Sélections de Grains Nobles come from old vines. The grapes are collected when overripe, several weeks after harvest. More concentrated than the Late Harvest, this is a sweet, yet fresh wine, with a good natural acidity. The Cuvée Anne is rare because it appears every seven years on average.
The Gewurztraminer Fleur is well composed, hearty and balanced, yet very discrete and well made. A very refreshing wine, it keeps its flavour in the aging process. The 2000 vintage comes from fully mature vines, planted on very steep slopes with a very low yield. It is a very floral wine with a beautiful gilded yellow colour. It develops a delicate nose of floral aromas. The mouth is soft and is marked by a slightly soft character because of the residual sugars. This wine is a very user-friendly aperitif that will accompany foie gras or any exotic cuisine, like dishes with fines herbes. It pairs well with salty and sweet foods, spices such as curry. It also brings out the flavour of certain cheeses such as Blue Cheese or Munster. (12 x 75 cl)
Cuvee Christine is vigorous, powerful, balanced, and has beautiful structure. It is very subtle and elegant. A tempting, fresh and sometimes soft wine, it ages well and keeps its floral aroma. This Late Harvest wine is made from overripe grapes, collected several weeks after the harvest. Unlike other sweet wines, it keeps its freshness and natural acidity, with a flavor unparallel to that of any other. Jewels of Domaines Schlumberger, the grapes for Cuvée Christine are harvested in the beginning of winter, in carefully selected portions. This very delicate wine comes from old vines and is made only in the especially good years. This wine exhibits charm and infinite softness with many nuances. The intense and refined nose evolves to exotic fruit notes of papaya and mango. On the palate, the attack is soft and silky. The consistently elegant structure is slightly spicy, characterized by exotic notes and strong sugared citrus fruit peels. The finish is round, and balanced. Natural sugars amplify the incredible finish. (6 x 75 cl)
