De Martino GRAN FAMILIA Cabernet Sauvignon Maipo Valley Chile

Our top-quality and most exclusive wine, the Gran Familia range is the pride of the De Martino family. Only the very best grapes are used in both varieties; Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère. These wines are aged in French oak barrels for 18 months and rested in our private cellars until their release. Both Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 and 2002 were selected Premium Wine of the Year in the prestigious Chilean wine guide, La Guia de Vinos de Chile 2004 and 2005 editions. Grown in our own vineyards in the Maipo Valley, smooth and round on the nose, this complex wine boasts an attractive range of berry, cherry and plum flavours that fill out the mid palate and continue on the finish. It shows great finesse and style. The finish is long, with a perfectly integrated aftertaste of fruit and oak. (12 x 75 cl)

The Legado Reserva wines come from the family's own estate in the Maipo Valley. Produced from grapes carefully selected and hand-picked, these wines have good colour, individual personality, great structure, and are concentrated and fruity, expressively representative of each variety. The wines receive 12 months ageing in French oak and production is limited Attractive, rich ruby red color. Fresh, alluring aromas of berries, blackcurrant, toasty and smoky, with hints of violet and sweet oak. Full bodied and harmonious on the palate, the rich fruit and toasty oak deliver a long, full finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Chile's dry and disease-free climate is a paradise for winemaking. Out of great respect for nature, the De Martino family has created wines under the most organic and honest circumstances. The grapes used are organically grown in their own Isla de Maipo estate. For vinification, they have used only grapes own yeasts during fermentation and a minimum of sulphur. A wine the way nature intended. These organic wines are fully certified by BCS -ko-Garantie GMBH . TASTING NOTE. Deep ruby red in colour, on the nose one is reminded of ripe dark fruits, like blueberries and blackberries, while the wood is well-integrated with the fruit. On the palate is soft with velvety tannins. Once again, one notices the fruit well-integrated with the wood; the ripe, while dark fruits combine well with the spices. Long and intense finish. Lovely straw yellow in colour, with a splendid aromatic display of white peaches, grass and green apples. It is refreshing and well balanced on the palate, with the grass and green apples again appearing to the fore. Along with a lemony tang at the end, this wine is incredibly full of flavour. Chile's new flagship grape variety, this wine is a beautiful red colour with traces of ruby. The nose abounds with ripe red fruits and shows marvellous intensity. On the palate it is full bodied with smooth tannins, and is given extra complexity and character by several months of oak ageing. The De Martino winemakers visited over 350 vineyard sites and selected the most exciting ones to offer this unique selection of limited production wines made from grapes sourced from Chile's best terroirs. Each wine displays the unique character and personality of its specific terroir. Ageing for 12 months in French oak, , adds complexity. Only between 800 and 1600 cases were produced of each Single Vineyard Wine. A symbol of the quality of the De Martino vineyards in Isla of Maipo, where the De Martino family has been producing quality wines since 1934, this warm and lingering Carmenere has a superb dark colour and generously offers fresh fruits, such as blackberries and cherries, with notes of black pepper and spices.
