Organic. A ruby red Merlot with a heady bouquet of forest fruits and typically soft, velvety flavour. Smooth, dry and delightfully easy-drinking. Each new vintage has shown this wine in a stronger light and it is fast catching up with some of its French rivals. (12 x 75 cl)
Organic. Notable for its well balanced and harmonious style, this is a straw yellow Chardonnay, with a full and fruity aroma. Hints of vanilla and melon and a persistent, broad finish. The Perlage team have hit on a simply appealing interpreta (12 x 75 cl)
Organic. Made at the suggestion of Australian winemaker Lisa Gilbee, and named after the Nardi family patriarch Tiziano, this is a rich, full in the mouth white wine which has had 8 months in oak barriques. It's 60% Chardonnay with 30% Riesling and 10% Sauvignon. (12 x 75 cl)
Organic. Aromatic and fragrant with a lively and vivacious style. An off-dry and velvety white with delicious summer fruit flavours and a bouquet which the producer says evokes 'mountain meadows at harvest time'. (12 x 75 cl)
Tasting Notes This is a barrique-aged red wine of notable vigour and length. The wine has a cherry red colour with lively highlights which turn to garnet-red with ageing. The nose has pronounced herbaceous notes which are balanced and softened by the oak. Attractive and gentle on the palate with integrated notes of sage and green pepper. Concentrated tannins with spicy, minty notes. Grape Varieties 80% Cabernet Sauvignon & 20% Cabernet Franc Maturation and Vinification The grapes for this wine are picked between September and October, they are immediately transferred to the winery for fermentation which lasts for approximately 3 weeks. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with frequent pumping over in order to get the best extraction from the grape skins. The wine is then aged for between 15 and 18 months in new and second use barriques, it then undergoes a further 2 to 3 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling and spends around 6 months in bottle before release. Owned by the Zenato family, the Santa Cristina Estate is located in San Benedetto di Lugana, approximately 25 kilometres west of Verona on the banks of Lake Garda. The Estate encompasses 40 hectares of vineyards located in various prime sites in the Lugana DOC production area, some of which can be dated back to prehistoric times . Primarily known for their outstanding Lugana wines from this estate, the Zenato family have also produced quality, distinctive wines using international grape varieties at Santa Cristina. (6 x 75 cl)
Organic. Gently dry and very easy-drinking, a light and summery white made from local varieties. Best served well chilled on a warm evening, and good with light foods too. A wine that's been expanding its fan club quite noticeably of late. (12 x 75 cl)
Organic. Hugely popular in Germany and, of course, Italy, Prosecco has been surprisingly slow to catch on here. It's dry, easy-drinking, but grapey, friendly and fizzy and fun! (12 x 75 cl)
