Domaine Maillard Pere et Fils Chorey les Beaune Blanc AC from France, Burgundy, Chorey-les-Beaune by Domaine Maillard Pere et Fils Chorey les Beaune (6 x 75 cl)
The fruit on the rounded nose develops on the palate of this well made wine from some of Bouchards best vineyards. The well defined tannins give power and complexity to this deep red coloured wine before giving way to a long finish. (12 x 75 cl)
From the gently sloping hillside overlooking the ancient walled town of Beaune comes this classic white Burgundy from Maison Louis Latour. White Beaune accounts for only 5% of the total production from this appellation. The soil in this region is made up of chalk and limestone which suits the Chardonnay well. The unique terroir and traditional oak cask ageing produce a wine with an elegant bouquet, which is rich and thick in body displaying a generous buttery fruit character. It is well-balanced and has a crisp acidity and a long finish. Soil: Limestone and chalk. Vinification: Aged in oak casks with 100% malolactic fermentation. Clear, pale lemon-yellow in the glass, this Beaune has a delicately fruity nose with scents of apricot and minerals. The palate is fresh with crisp acidity, round structure and subtle hints of butter and lemon as well as warm alcohol that lingers (12 x 75 cl)
The wine has been vinified in traditional open-top fermenters and then matured for atleast 12 months in the subterranean cellars in Beaune. A wine with classic feminine style.
