Description: Arlewood Estate was established in 1988 in the Willyabrup Valley of the Margaret River wine region in Western Australia. The Gosatti family in partnership planted a small vineyard near Cowaramup in 1995, and acquired Arlewood Estate in 1999. In October 2005, The Gosatti Family completed an outright purchase of Arlewood to pursue the vision that is starting to crystalise with the release of some wines worthy of their situation.

The total area under vine is 15 hectares and the plantings include 17 year old Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon vines; 11 year old Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Franc; 10 year old Chardonnay, along with newer plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot.

All the fruit is hand picked while this wine is made from 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot, sourced in Block A of the Arlewood Wilyabrup vineyard. Great care is taken as this wine is assembled culminating in 24 months oak ageing, 50% in new Demptos French barriques and 50% in 1 year old French barriques.

A deep red coloured wine showing a ripe fruit nose. On the palate there are deep, dark blackberry and cassis fruits, cedar as well as a touch of vanilla. Marvellous concentration with soft and silken tannins and well married oak give way to the long enjoyable finish.

This wine is a blend of hand picked 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot from the Arlewood Wilyabrup vineyard. Once assembled in the winery this wine is oak aged for 12 months in 30% new Seguin Moreau French barriques and 70% 2 year old French barriques. Aromas of dark berry fruits, with a lovely perfume on the nose give way to a juicy, fleshy and soft palate, with layers of fruit wrapped in fine tannins. Finishing long and focussed (12 x 75 cl)

This wine is a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Semillon and all the fruit was sourced from Arlewood Estate vineyard; Willyabrup, Margaret River Appellation. Once in the winery the Sauvignon Blanc was tank fermented, while the Semillon component matured in new French oak barriques for 2 months. Made by Mark Messenger to the Arlewood his aim was to produce a style which delivers all the bright fruit and cleansing freshness that Margaret River is known for, with the added dimension that a barrel fermented portion of the blend delivers. The palate is bright and clear while the lean body and mouthfeel reveal cleansing acidity. Flavours of grapefruit and lime combine with savoury spice through to the enjoyable finish. (12 x 75 cl)

This wine is 100% Semillon from the Arlewood Wilyabrup vineyard and the hand picked fruit was assembled in the winery before 20% of the Semillon was fermented in new Saury French barriques. Post ferment all Semillon was transferred to a combination of new Taransaud and Francois Freres French barriques for 1 month. Finally the wine is transferred to 2 year old French barriques for 4 months. Stunning aromas with a rich and powerful style are reminiscent of a combination of citrus and rose as well as a smokey and nutty note. Big styled wine showing a seamless palate this is a complex wine, rounded with great length of flavour, it finishes long and tangy. (12 x 75 cl)

From the Arlewood Cowaramup vineyard this 100% Chardonnay wine was hand picked in the vineyard. While in the winery barrel fermentation occurred in in 8 new Dargaud and Jaegle French barriques, 2 new Francois Freres French barriques, with the balance in 1 year old Cadus French barriques. This has produced a long and fine wine with lovely fleshy white fruit and a crisp backbone. Considerable oak and fruit structure is balanced by fine acidity to give a powerful yet elegant effect. Description A refreshing, clean classical Margaret river stye, with crisp zesty citrus and plenty of complex rich fruit. Well balanced and persistent on the finish. This wine is great on its own for aperitif or with light dishes such as seafood and salads. Winemaking Method: Each variety is fermented separately. The grapes are whole bunch pressed. Then the must is racked and the temperature is brought to 16ÂșC for a slow, stainless steel tank fermentation to retain maximum flavours.
