The Veelverjaaght farm has a winemaking history dating back to 1695. The property is characterized by a beautiful oak-lined avenue running from the edge of the farm up to the homestead, hence the wines are today marketed under the Oak Lane range.
The Joubert family have owned and run the farm for five generations. Fourth generation Jannie Joubert, with 20 years of experience, is in charge of winemaking, his brother Lukas runs the 120 hectares of vineyards, while Jannie’s son Fanie Joubert takes care of administration and finance.
The Oak Lane wines have impressive consistency and a good concentration of fruit across the range, however, the Pinotage does not undergo filtration but maintains the intensity of fruit. Deep cherry coloured wine, it has a warm, enveloping palate of sweet red fruit, charred oak and spice. This Pinotage is soft, round and balanced with a nice finish.
