Chateau Troplong-Mondot fashions one of the best wines on the Right Bank and you must credit the conviction of Christine Valette who has overseen a complete renaissance in her wines. They can be quite tannic in their youth, but Troplong always seems to balance that with precocious, rich young fruits and a sublime balance that elevates the wines above the crowd. the harvest is picked entirely by hand and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats and thereafter undergo malolactic fermentation in oak barrel of which 70% are new oak and 30% are one-year old. Here they mature for 12 to 24 months depending upon the vintage, fined with egg-whites and finally bottled, available in its own original wooden case. (12 x 75 cl)
