Description: Very intense, deep ruby red, with the purple reflections typical of young Dolcetto; the bouquet surprises with exceptional elegance and ideal interplay of Nebbiolo and Dolcetto (the former's finesse, the latter's volume): a chorus where Nebbiolo gives the peak performance and Dolcetto the background. Spicy and/or vinous notes characteristic of the two varieties, mellowed by aging. Very rich but non-aggressive, an all-around food wine for special occasions and complex, structured dishes. Blends famously include some of the world's most prestigious wines: our Bricco may well be the most historic and authentically Italian interpretation.
Serve at 17/19º C., in an ample glass.
Bricco del Drago was first released in 1969 and was the first ''Super Vino da Tavola'' in the Piedmont, possibly the first in Italy. Thanks to this long-standing reputation, Bricco del Drago may soon be recognized as an individual, specific DOC, ''Bricco del Drago''. Since 1995 vintage it is a Langhe Rosso DOC. The reason behind this wine is the incredible complexity and structure with which this soil (in combination with the low crops per vine)endows Dolcetto, rendering it far from the forward wine it usually is. This particular Dolcetto, with the addition of a small percentage of Nebbiolo bestowing greater finesse and elegance, and after a judiciously timed sojourn in wood, is a complex, pleasing wine of superb breed and extraordinary longevity. Beacause of these distinguishing traits, Dr. Degiacomi, who created the wine, wisely choose to employ cru name rather than varietal name to identify it.
IN THE VINEYARD Varieties (in approximate percentages) : 85% Dolcetto - 15% Nebbiolo Exposure : westerly Altitude : between 330 ad 400 meters above sea level Age of vines : an average 20 years approximately, with vines planted between 1970 and 1989. In 2000 a new vineyard has been planted with Nebbiolo and Dolcetto Vines per hectare : around 5,000 Wine yield per hectare : about 4,000 liters Harvest time : September 20th-30th for Dolcetto, October 1st-10th for Nebbiolo
IN THE WINERY The two varieties are vinified separately, as maturation takes place at different times: the two wines are assembled and then undergo élevage in oak. Maceration is approximately 5/8 days for Dolcetto and about 10/12 days for Nebbiolo, at a maximum temperature of respectively 25º C. and 30º C. The sojourn in oak barrels - Slavonian and French, partly renewed each year - lasts 12 to 18 months, depending on vintage. The wine is successively racked into stainless steel, clarified with fresh, whipped egg white, decanted and bottled without filtering. Alcohol: 12.5-13 % by vol. Total acidity: 5-5.5 grams per liter of tartaric acid Dry extract: 27-29 grams per liter

Poderi Colla RONCAGLIE Barbaresco Alba Piemonte
Characteristically Nebbiolo in color, i.e. intense ruby red with subtly lighter reflections that connoisseurs will recognize. Inviting and non-aggressive, its bouquet is extremely complex, with the variety's typical rose nuances as well as ample, layered spice, woodsy and berry sensations. On the palate it is very full-bodied while also elegant, almost feminine. Straightaway intense and pleasing, long and soft, with a finish of great finesse and appeal and firm, sweet tannins. This is a great wine to accompany the entire meal, albeit best with red meat and fowl. Ideal served at 17/19º C., in a very ample glass. In case of older vintages, it is advisable to decant in order to allow it to breathe properly. IN THE VINEYARD Varieties: 100% Nebbiolo Exposure: prevailingly southern Altitude: approximately between 240 and 280 meters above sea level Vines planted in: 1970 (6 x 75 cl)

Marchesi di Gresy VILLA MARTIS Barbera Nebbiolo Langhe Rosso DOC Piemonte
Born from a marriage between the noble nebbiolo and the great barbera, whose percentages vary from vintage to vintage to be able to conserve the finesse of the first and the structure and acidity of the second. This wine offers pleasing and persuasive sensations that are elegant and balanced. Villa Martis can be enjoyed with the whole meal but matches particularly well with main courses with delicate sauces and fresh, young cheeses. (6 x 75 cl)
Batasiolo Langhe Rosso DOC Piemonte
Colour: garnet red with violet reflections. Bouquet: vinous and fruity reminiscent of morel-cherry. Taste: delicately acidulous, fruity and round. Vinification and Refinement: as each grape variety is harvested at different times, they are crushed and fermented separately, according to the exigencies of the variety. The blending of these cépages, takes place at the moment of the ageing process of which a small percentage is aged in barriques for up to 6 months. The wine is refined for a further 3 to 6 months in the bottle before being released. It is made from an assemblage of three important local varieties: Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo Grapes. (6 x 75 cl)
Ca'Viola BRIC du LUV Langhe Rosso Piemonte
Bricco del lupo is the charming name of a wine that has the power and elegance of the wolf. This wine is made from Barbera grapes and with minor addition of Pinot Nero. It gets its fresh, tart strength from Barbera, its ripe fruit bouquet from Nebbiolo and its mild tannin content from the French wooden barrique where it ages for more than 15 months. The result is a balanced, complex wine that has become renowned for its wide range of intense, persistent aromas and its world class flavour. The deep ruby red colour is almost opaque, and the bouquet emerges a little at a time, with refinement and elegance, to revela hints of cooked prunes, raspberry preserves, and currant and white chocolate syrup to reach a finale in which scents of various spices complete the fragrance. To the taste, it expresses bold, lengthy suggestions of black currant and ripe black cherry, while the body is soft, round, full, excity and thick, with a finale that is velvety and persistent. (6 x 75 cl)
