Villa Sparina is a prestigious country residence built in the xviii century. It already boasted vast underground cellars but since the acquisition by the Moccagatta family 30 years ago there has been a careful transformation of the vineyards and the winery. Combining tradition with modern equipment and techniques, San Silvestro have been making and selecting high quality wines in the Cantine San Silvestro for many years. Very fine Piedmontese white wine made from a painstaking vinification of the Cortese varietal grown in the Gavi area. La Giustiniana produces two single vineyard Gavis, each unoaked so that the character of the vineyard shines through in the wine. The Lugarara is the most open of the two, as befits the sandier soil in the vineyard, but it has good richness on the palate and nicely moderated acidity. This Gavi di Gavi Lugarara is fresh and clean with good concentration on the palate and mineral and citrus notes. It has good richness and nicely moderated acidity.
