Description:
In 1994, Anthony Hamilton Russell (owner of Hamilton Russell Vineyards) founded Southern Right Cellars as a Sauvignon and Pinotage specialist. As an early ripening grape, Antony Hamilton Russell and Kevin Grant, the winemaker, are convinced that Pinotage performs best in cooler areas where a longer slower ripening season affords fully developed tannins and greater fruit complexity.
The Cellar is named after the rare Southern Right whale which frequents the cool South Atlantic Walker Bay, and each bottle sold Southern Right Cellars makes a contribution to Southern Right whale conservation.
This deep red coloured wine is well-textured with expressions of red and black fruits and spicy oak. The sophisticated structure and well developed tannins are complemented by an enjoyable finish.

Wonderful balance of forward fruit and minerality with a generous complexity to complement the wine's natural varietal fruitiness. (6 x 75 cl)
After a long search for the ideal terrior founder Tim Hamilton Russell purchased 170 hectares of undeveloped land near the fisihing village of Hermanus in 1970. Hamilton Russell Vineyards, one of the most southerly in South Africa, are in the Walker Bay district 3km inland from the south Atlantic. Here, the vineyards enjoy the benefits of close proximity to the sea. Tiny yields and high world wide demand means that only limited quantities of this wine are available. (6 x 75 cl)

Low yields and clay-rich soils have resulted in a little tightness for this wine that has elevated length to balance the richness. Plantagenet Great Southern Cabernet Sauvignon is an intense and deep red colour. Aromas of blueberries and sweet raspberries combine with smoky oak characters on the nose. On the palate intense berry flavours are supported by soft and silky tannins. The wine finishes long and fresh with hints of spicy oak. The Plantagenet winery is located in the Mount Barker township, a sub-district of the Great Southern region in Western Australia. The area is famous for its premium quality wine production, the cool-climate ensuring the slow ripening of the grapes which enhances fruit composition and flavours. Plantagenet’s five vineyards are located to the south and west of the town. (6 x 75 cl)
From small beginnings nearly 30 years ago, Plantagenet Wines is now one of the most well respected Western Australian wineries, consistently producing quality wines from the Great Southern region. Mahogny in colour this wine is showing aromas of Blackberry, currant and plums while the 6 months bottle ageing provides cigar box vanilla and a hint of thyme and sage. Silky and elegant texture is showing ripe layering of wild berries, plum and cassis character , while the beautifully balanced tannins enhance the lingering finish. (6 x 75 cl)
