The vines flourish in the prime conditions afforded by the region's clay-chalk subsoil. Temperature- controlled fermentation followed by ageing for 16 months in oak casks (50% new, 50% one year old) giving it all the finesse and fullness of a great red wine. It is a perfect accompaniment to game, roast beef or chicken. The wine possesses a remarkable harmony of body and bouquet. With its generous character, full-bodied flavour, rich bouquet and propensity for perfect ageing, this wine ranks among the first-class wines of Bordeaux.
