Description: The history of Bodegas Pinord can be traced back to the time when, over one hundred and fifty years ago, the Tetas family began making white and red wines on their estate in Sant Cugat Sesgarrigues from grapes they themselves had grown. Even at that time they produced and aged the wines using the most traditional methods employed in the region.

In 1942, José María Tetas set up the current winery in Vilafranca del Penedès, just four kilometres from the original estate. Having inherited the family methods and traditions, it has gradually grown until it has now become one of the most highly reputed wineries in the region.

This wine comes from the Montanyans estate belonging to Bodegas Pinord in the Alt Penedes. Made with the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety and a small proportion of Merlot. It follows a meticulous production process including a maceration time of three weeks. It is then put into casks where it is left to rest for 24 months.

Dark reddish brown in colour this wine has an aroma of great intensity due to the oak ageing. If you allow some oxygen into the glass spicy aromas, vanilla and leather will appear which you later find in the mouth. The palate is perfectly balanced between the maturity of the wine and tannins that give it velvety sensations with a long and pleasant aftertaste.

Clean, dark mahogany in colour with reddish-brown overtones this wine has an extremely intense bouquet reminiscent of the casks in which the wine was aged, as well as certain vanilla hints and spices such as black pepper. These aromas mingle with those of the Cabernet Sauvignon variety to create a very special personality. The Cabernet variety can be appreciated much more in the mouth, although this highly characteristic taste is somewhat softened by the 14-months ageing period in oak casks and the further two years ageing in the bottle. This has produced a wine with a great harmony of flavours and roundness while it is extremely persistent and long-lasting. (6 x 75 cl)

A dark violet colour with a brilliant appearance. The first impression shows extremely intense aromas, especially of smoked and roasted fare, coffee and truffles. However,as you move the wine around in the glass, fruits such as raspberry and ginger begin to emerge. In the mouth it has body, moderate alcohol and strength, while the tannins, which have been rounded out by their period in the bottle, stand out. The smoothness due to the ageing in oak barrels has been accentuated over time and the aromas of crystallised fruits have come to the fore. (6 x 75 cl)

Made from 90% Tempranillo with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has a plum red colour with dark ruby overtones. The intense aroma is a great refelction of aging in the barrel and the smell of ripe fruit, recalling the Mediterranean grapes from which the wine is made is also evident. Light on the palate yet not lacking in body the tannins in this Crianza have been ennobled during the ageing period to leave a very pleasant after-taste. (12 x 75 cl)
