Description:
Domaine du Tariquet Sauvignon Blanc Vins de Pays des Cotes de Gascogne from France, South West, Cotes de Gascogne by Domaine du Tariquet Zesty/Aromatic Dry Whites (12 x 75 cl)
The Ugni Blanc/Colombard blend is fresh and zesty, with bags of melon and peach fruit and incredible finish. For the past 20 years the Grassa family have been putting Vin de Pays des Cotes de Gascogne on the viticultural map and have established a worldwide reputation for their various Domaines, from Gold medal after Gold medal in international competitions to the world's leading wine writers citing Yves Grassa as one of the world's most dynamic and innovative winemakers. Indeed, back in 1989 the Domaine du Tariquet Ugni Blanc/Colombard won White Wine of the Year at the International Wine Challenge. Domaine Tariquet is the property where Yves Grassa lives on the family estate and it is here that he tends his most precious vines. The style of winemaking is always one of freshness, elegance and finesse and the Domaine Tariquet range is no exception. Yves is passionate about his winemaking and as a perfectionist is constantly looking at ways of improving what most people agree is a faultless operation, even to the point that he sleeps on a camp bed between the vats during vinification, just in case a minor adjustment needs to be made to the temperature! (12 x 75 cl)
Domaine du Tariquet LE ROSE Merlot Syrah Tannat Vins de Pays des Cotes de Gascogne from France, South West, Cotes de Gascogne by Chateau du Tariquet Eauze (12 x 75 cl)
This Gascony domaine is owned by the Grassa family who are one of the best producers in this beautiful corner of France. Commited to protecting the environment both in the vineyards and the winery, they use organic fertiliser and the use of sulphites has been reduced to a minimum. Maceration of the grapes and a long, cool fermentation maintains the freshness and fruit flavours in the finished wine. The Chenin gives a mineral, appley character whilst the Chardonnay adds richness and body. (12 x 75 cl)
From Domaine du Tariquet, a property that makes consistently good wine at reasonable prices. "If you paid £7.99 for this level of Sauvignon Blanc fruit, grassy and rich at the same time, you would not feel hard done by". Richard Ehrlich, Independent on Sunday. (12 x 75 cl)

The "entry level" Ugni Blanc/Colombard is fresh and zesty, with bags of melon and peach fruit and incredible finish, while the Sauvignon makes many a Sancerre producer blush. His Chardonnay is fermented and matured in 3 different types of wood and yeasts from California, Australia and Burgundy are used. The Chardonnay/Sauvignon is a rare animal indeed (12 x 75 cl)
Yves Grassa is a true innovative wine genius, an exponent of modern methods of handling and bottling. In 1988 this wine won seven gold medals under seven different labels in the Daily Telegraph International Wine Competition. Excellent as an aperitif. (12 x 75 cl)
From brilliant winemaker Yves Grassa, the wine is fresh on the nose with a hint of newly mown hay and well-integrated vanilla oak nuances. Well-balanced on the palate with some tropical fruit flavours. Very pleasant and refreshing. (12 x 75 cl)
