Imperial is one of the big brands of Spain. It is a true classic in Rioja and was first produced in the twenties. Its name comes after a special bottling for the English market, in a measure called 'Pinta Imperial' or 'Imperial Pint' . From 1928 these wines could be found at the top restaurants and shops all over Spain. It has always been characterised for its very high and constant quality, in every vintage. A blend of Tempranillo 85%, Graciano 10%, Mazuelo 5% this is a stylish, bright ruby red and very intense coloured wine It is highly aromatic on the nose with hints of red and black autumn fruit aromas with some toasty and spices of sweet Bourbon. Intense ruby red with deep berry notes and liquorice. On the palate there are hints of toasty oak and fine spices. The tannins are mature and the wine has developed an exceptional elegance from its time in barrel. The finish is long, beautiful and classic Rioja Alta. (6 x 75 cl)

Deep ruby and cherry red in colour. The palate is rich, warming and velverrrrt with good acidity and fine tannins. The vanilla from the oak is beautifully married with the raspberry fruit from the Tempranillo producing a fine, rich complex palate with a good length (6 x 75 cl)

This is Cune's flagship wine which, despite spending 16 months in new French oak, does not hold a 'Reserva' or 'Gran Reserva' designation.
