It is well structured, extremely classy and has a lingering aftertaste. It is a blend of 68% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Bianco, 12% Pinot Noir, it is a light straw with antique gold colour and green notes. The very intense nose is delicate and complex at the same time and smells of bread yeast, apricot, peach and grapefruit. Investigations were undertook and it was established that what in the North of Italy was called Cabernet Franc and in Chile Merlot was, in fact, Carmènere. It is a site specific grape, so it is only successful in a few areas of the world and, even then, not every year. Ca' del Bosco took up the challenge in 1983. In many blind tastings, carried out by great international experts, it has outclassed the big names from Burgundy. Pinero is elegance personified. The richness is striking and the range of varietal aromas and the citrus and jam notes highlight the sensations coming from the aging in barriques. This Pinot Noir is very particular, able to show strength and finesse. It shows originality, with well-combined richness, finesse and smoothness, matched with rare elegance.
