El Coto is the best selling Rioja in Spain and the company has recently invested in state of the art production facilities for its white and rose wines. Made from the fresh free-run juice of Garnacha & Tempranillo grapes, cold-fermented to maintain all the juicy red-fruit flavours, this is packed full of ripe raspberry fruit with a delicious fresh finish and enough body to serve throughout the year. The Izadi Rioja Crianza is impressive – an intense, youthful purple in colour, with the vanilla oak perfumes well integrated with the juicy black fruit on the palate and fine, savoury tannins. The grapes for this wine come from vineyards situated at 600 metres above sea level so warm days give way to cool nights, encouraging the aromatic qualities in the grapes to develop. The grapes are destemmed and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks then the wine is aged in 225L barriques for 14 months. Izadi is based in Villabuena in the Rioja Alavesa, the highest part of Rioja. The hillside winery was founded in 1987 by Gonzalo Anton as a modern breakaway from the traditional style of wine produced by other members of his family. As son Lalo Anton says, ‘the whole concept of Izadi really started around wanting to produce wine to satisfy the needs of our friends over a meal’. The winemaking philosophy is beautifully simple, as Lalo explains; ‘Flexibility is the key – we follow a style but conditions change with each vintage. Order, flexibility and cleanliness are the keys for us to produce modern, international wines that are true to their roots and a natural expression of the area’. (12 x 75 cl)

A velvety and full bodied Adeep red coloured wine made from a blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha . Aged for 36 months in cask and 24 months in bottle, this intense, spicy, full and round Rioja has a long aftertaste. (12 x 75 cl)

Made mostly with Tempranillo and also with Graciano grapes. Aged for three years in the barrel and two years in the bottle. It has the typical style which gave the region, and especially the Haro area, its reputation: smooth, fine, elegant, balanced and complex. (24 x 37.5 cl)

Regarded by many as the standard by which fine Reserva Riojas should be measured, showing bredth and complexity, a regal power and imperious length. This vintage is starting to drink well and has plenty of years in it. (24 x 37.5 cl)
