Description:
Produced only from Merlot grapes grown in the Central Valley. Aromas of fresh berries followed by very pleasant fruity flavours. Finesse and balance on the palate finishing in a velvety, smooth texture. This uniquely packaged wine is popularly known as Ă’Ensacado - The Sack Wine" and was originally created by Franciscan monks who built the town of San Francisco de Mostazal in return for wine from Vino de Eyzaguirre. The monks would wrap the bottles in burlap sacks to protect the wine during the journey by horse drawn cart from the winery to the monastery. This was later adopted by the winery and has remained in place ever since.
A dark, dense, fruity and oaky flavoured wine. Blackcurrant, mint, anise and coffee aromas all abound. The palate shows black fruit and berry flavours with ripe tannins. Long, rich and complex aftertaste. (12 x 75 cl)
Only a careful selection of the best grapes from mature vines goes into this wine. Matured in new French oak barrels for 12 months. Deep ruby-red colour with violet hints. Refined bouquet with hints of morello cherry, mulberry and blackcurrant. The rich palate elegantly balances fruit and oak with fine notes of spice, smoke and vanilla. Available in half bottles. (12 x 37.5 cl)
Well balanced with flavours of plums and damsons and a hint of spice. Soft tannin and juicy acidity make this very appealing and drinkable. (12 x 75 cl)
