Description:
Owner of Chateau Lafite Rothschild for five generations, the Rothschild family has been based in this Bordeaux vineyard since 1868. High values and respect of traditional methods make them passionate about harmony and excellence in the wines they produce. Their wines bear witness to that passion year after year and their skills have patiently enriched the wines through the generations, with world-renowned success.
Domain Baron de Rothschild skills have served other exceptional Bordeaux wines and vineyards, which share the same values of humility and high standards. Over the years, Domain Baron de Rothschild has expanded its offerings through the acquisition of Chateau Duhart-Milon, 4th growth wine from Pauillac, of Chateau Rieussec, 1er growth Sauternes wines, of Chateau l'Evangile in Pomerol, of Chateau Paradis Casseuil in Entre-Deux-Mers and of Chateau Peyre-Lebade, Bordeaux wines in Haut Medoc. Recently, Domain Baron de Rothschild, in 1999, purchased Chateau d'Aussieres.
'A' d'Aussieres is the second wine of Chateau d'Aussieres. A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Carignan, 20% of the wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months
This wine is mature showing fresh aromas and a supple, fleshy structure which reflect the terroir of the estate. The bouquet is bold, highlighting richness and spiciness of the garrigue - Mediterranean mountain flowers and herbs. Complex and balanced this wine has good mouthfeel and an enjoayable finish
