Description:
The Terre da Vino winery is owned by 14 co-ops who choose the best grapes from their best vineyards in Piemonte. Rich mulberry fruit with smooth vanilla oak, complex, mouth-filling and very tasty.
Established in 1980, Terre da Vino is an association of vineyard owners from DOC and DOCG estates in Piedmont. With 2,500 wine growers it cultivates more than 4,000 hectares organised into 14 Wine Cooperatives, located in the classic area of production. With a new modern winery and a focus on quality production from the vineyard to the bottle this is an exciting time for Terre da Vino. The grapes come from the classic Barbera area in the comuni of Nizza Monferrato, Agliano Terme, and Clamandrana, all in the province of Asti. This wine is blended from vineyards with slightly different soils and microclimates so that the final wine will offer a better balance between structural solidity and bouquet complexity. The vineyards utilised a total of 60 hectares , and are part of the company's 'Superbarbera' project where the Terre da Vino viticulturists rigerously select vineyard that have low yields and a commitment to quality. Vinification is traditional, with a 15-20 day maceration on the skins and a 28-30oC fermentation, followed quickly by the onset of malolactic. The wine then matures for about 12 months in small oak, about 1/3 new; here, the wine, already impressively structured, acquires a multi-layered depth of flavour and character, evolving into a richly-nuanced Barbera of grace and expressiveness. This wine is a ruby-edge purple with a rich and deep bouquet showing a complex balance of violet, liquorice, and vanilla notes. The palate is crisp and dry, with a subtly-veined background of vanilla and wild berries, which carry through to its lingering finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Tasting Intense colour and complex aromas in a wine with great body, typical of NIZZA Barberas. The oak is not overpowering and the wine has excellent ageing potential. Vineyard/Territory From the oldest vineyards at the PianoAlto estate, in Crena. Wine Production The wine is aged in 1500 litre Piedmontese barrels, custom-coopered using new wood. The wine is bottled directly from the barrels, without filtration. The PianoAlto estate surrounds its old farmhouse on the Crena ridge, with a lovely view of the village of Agliano d'Asti. The oldest vineyard produces the grapes used for PianoAlto, a Barbera d'Asti Superiore that bears the designation NIZZA, the best-suited sub-zone for the production of this fine red wine. The use of Piedmontese double-sized barrels for ageing brings out the best of its typical characteristics. (6 x 75 cl)
Tasting Nice deep red. Fragrant scents of ripe little red berries. A rich and warm wine, requiring demanding food pairings. Vineyard/Territory Only estate-grown Barbera from the old vineyards of Cocconato and Agliano. Wine Production Proper maceration on the skins is followed by storage in new and used barriques and, finally, bottle aging It is precisely on the steepest slopes (6 x 75 cl)
Tasting An intense and rich wine, with a subtle vanilla scent, smooth and velvety on the palate, of great elegance. Not filtered. Vineyard/Territory From the Gura vineyard at Cocconato and subsequent replantations. Wine Production Wine making is characterized by delicate maceration, immediately followed by fining in new barriques for about 18 months. This name was not chosen by chance. The dedication to the well-known violin is due to the amusing, but tried and tested theory that particular sounds accompany particular tastes during concerts in the wine cellar.Stradivario is a Barbera d'Asti Superiore made from grapes harvested at Cocconato, on the calcareous hills of the high Asti region. Deeply rooted in this area for four generations, the BAVA family has kept the oldest vineyard for the production of these red grapes. They give a pure, long-lived Barbera, made in accordance with the international rules that reward strength and depth, without denying the territory identity. The grapes are harvested very ripe, and the yield is kept low in the vineyard. The wine making is characterized by a moderate contact with the air and delicate macerations, immediately followed by fining in new barriques. The outcome is a well-definite wine, extraordinarily rigorous, which recurs and keeps for years. Its outstanding elegance and superb aromatic precision come from its fining, masterfully merged with the Barbera character. (6 x 75 cl)
Tasting Deep red with ruby hues; fragrant bouquet Fruity, fresh, and surprisingly supple to the palate Vineyard/Territory from the younger vineyards of the PianoAlto estate at Crena, Agliano d'Asti Wine Production Fermentation takes place in steel tanks Aged in the bottle before its release on the market Modern, surprising and fashionable, LIBERA is above all a good Barbera wine, made from the youngest vines at the PianoAlto estate in Agliano. All the wines produced by this estate are of prominent standing. They reflect best the qualities of the most classic Barbera-growing area, since the village is part of the NIZZA subzone. Libera is a Barbera that accompanies the most diverse foods. Thanks to its extraordinary versatility, it has been received warmly by international wine buyers (12 x 75 cl)
The Terre da Vino winery is owned by 14 co-ops who choose the best grapes from their best vineyards in Piemonte. 100% Cortese from a small estate in the commune of Gavi itself this is a superb quality wine with a lively, citrusy nose and round, nutty, full-flavoured palate. (12 x 75 cl)
