Descriptive : A mere extension of the Mâconnais growths, the appellation lies 6 miles west of the town of Mâcon, gravitating round the famous bluff at Solutré and boxed in-between the northern Crus of Beaujolais to the South and Mâcon-Villages to the North with St Véran forming a ''buffer zone'' on either side. The vineyards producing Pouilly-Fuissé occupy those sites where the limestone occurs in combination with heavy clays.
