La Sauvageonne LES RUFFES Coteaux du Languedoc AC
A wild yet beautiful landscape surrounds this English owned vineyard high in the hills of Herault. Ruffes is the volcanic terroir on which low-yielding Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault produce a fine, intense, peppery red of great elegance. A medium ruby red, sweet cherry fruit with hints of white pepper; good weight of jammy fruit, supple tannins and a long finish. Based in the Languedoc region of southern France, Domaine La Sauvageonne is a small yet dynamic vineyard producing an exciting range of wines. Through the motivation of British winemaker Gavin Crisfield and the dedication of his team, La Sauvageonne boasts wines of exceptional quality and character; expressing both the region, and Gavin's rigorous methods of production.
