Description:
The Gros dynasty began in the early 1800's when Alphonse Gros married Madame Latour, settling in Vosne-Romanee. Since that time there have been great changes in both the estate and the approach to making wine. Today, Michel is in charge of the Estate and has been winemaking for the last 15 years. However, it was only in 1997 that his parents Jean and Jeanine retired and handed on the domaine to their children.
Divided 3 ways between the siblings Michel has the whole of 'Clos des Reas' at the expense of losing Richebourg to his sister. Currently, he is adding small parcels of fine vineyards in Vosne and Chambolle as fast as he can find them available - not easy in today's conditions.
A deep red coloured Pinot Noir, it is showing dark ripe fruit, including black cherry and cassis, aromas that develop on the rich, well structured palate. Complex and balanced with refined tannins this wine has a soft and smooth finish.
