Quinta is the Portuguese word for vineyard and thus, whenever a vintage port has the word quinta, one can be guaranteed that grapes come entirely from this place. Quinta da Foz is situated in the heart of Port Wine country with steep terraced slopes reaching all the way down to the Douro River. This special vintage has a deep, dark inky colour. Its rich bouquet is predominantly of forest fruits, notably ripe plums and prunes, with touches of cocoa and spices. On tasting it is mature, complex, full and rounded. Using only the best grapes of the 1986 harvest, this vintage port was aged for two years in fine oak vats before bottling. Ready to drink now, it will continue to mature for decades .
