Chateau La Conseillante is located on the highest part of the Pomerol plateau. The soil has a large concentration of clay in the northern part, bordering of Petrus, and clay-gravel soil in the southern part, bordering on Chateau Cheval Blanc. Five generations of the Nicolas family have worked hard to maintain La Conseillante's excellent reputation over the past 126 years. Care is taken to keep yields low and produce perfectly ripe grapes, which are hand picked. Chateau La Conseillante is aged in 100% new oak barrels in great vintages. La Conseillante is full, round, velvety and creamy with all the voluptuous softness of Merlot combined with the finesse of Cabernet Franc, which also contributes a fruity bouquet with hints of truffle. A perfect balance between elegance and power is the hallmark of La Conseillante. Clay-gravel on iron-oxide rich subsoil.
