A wine with an appealing fruit-driven style (6 x 75 cl)

This very youthful deep ruby red wine is packed with exuberant fruitiness. Milled black pepper and clean leather, plus a touch of vanilla make up the bouquet. It is full and fruity; concentrated, juicy and velvety on the tongue, spiced with clove and liqourice and ends on a high peppery note. (6 x 75 cl)

Tasting Note Warming, full-bodied red with silky plum and blackberry fruit and rich chocolaty oak. Smooth, ripe tannins on the palate cushion the fruit and provide the all important structure. Classic sun-drenched Cape Merlot. 14.5% A bit about Kloovenburg The son of a celebrated Springbok rugby player, Pieter du Toit prefers viticulture to scrumming down with seven other grown men. He made his first Shiraz in 1998 but its immediate success led him to diversify and now grows Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet too. Located in the shadow of Kasteelberg mountain in Swartland, the family also grow olives and Pieter’s wife Annalene is as well regarded for her oil as Pieter is for his reds. Pieter du Toit's wines are all made in a classic New World style with deep, concentrated fruit and sweet, ripe tannins. The Merlot is a big red lovers' dream come true: full-bodied and rich with an abundance of black fruit flavours crammed into the bottle (6 x 75 cl)

Ripe and complex with integrated citrus, dried peach and nuances of roasted nuts on the nose follow through in a smooth and superbly structured palate. Carefully oaked to balance the juicy fruit. The finish is sensual and the aftertaste lingering. (12 x 75 cl)
