A dry, crisp refreshing wine with lingering palate flavours of tropical fruit and tasty citrus and pear. The finish has good length and intensity ending with a note of seasoned oak maturation. Produced from fruit grown in the Gisborne and Hawkes Bay regions situated on the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand. Both regions are renown for production of quality Chardonnay wines. The fruit was chosen for its exceptional flavour development and maturity. All vineyard blocks received special attention to vine canopy management to ensure good exposure to sunlight to maximize flavour development. Matua Valley Wines began as a small, family-run winery in West Auckland, New Zealand, in 1973. In the next few years, winemakers Ross and Bill Spence quickly gained a reputation for innovative, award-winning New Zealand wines - including the first New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Today, Matua Valley produces a wide range of distinctive wines.
