A Chateau occupying a superb position overlooking the Gironde. Made from 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot with the balance from Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. A dark ruby color is followed by a wine revealing plenty of new oak and a touch of pepper. Available in the original wooden case. (12 x 75 cl)
A rich full bodied red with an abundance of dark ripe fruit and light smokey undertones. Clean and fleshy with good length this is a well balanced wine. One of the truly great and legendary properties of the Medoc, Beychevelle owes its name to the rank of its long-ago owner, the Duc d'Epernon who was Grand Admiral of France. To salute the revered nobleman, all ships on the Gironde lowered their sails as they passed in sight of the Chateau. From 'baisse-voile' came Beychevelle, and a fame that has endured for centuries. The vineyard is now controlled by the Japanese group, Suntory (6 x 75 cl)
