Vesevo Fiano di Avellino DOCG Campania
The Fiano di Avellino is straw yellow in colour, with intense fruit and fresh, floral perfumes. This wine has a youthful vivacity and zingy acidity on the finish which keeps it fresh, and acts as a delicious foil to the waxy, fruit character on the palate. The Vesevo estate is located in the high, mountainous area of Avellino, in the Irpinian hills in Campania. The vineyards are situated at between 450 and 550 metres above sea level, in the path of cool breezes blowing off the Bay of Naples. This same breeze has, over the centuries, blown volcanic ash from Vesuvius inland to give the soil here a poor, volcanic character. Indeed, the name Vesevo is the old name for Vesuvius. Despite being so far south, this is one of the latest regions in Italy to harvest. (12 x 75 cl)
