Description:
From 30 year-old wines the grapes are harvested in early October then left to dry on racks until January which concentrates the sugars and flavour. The wine is full and rich with amazing fruit intensity and a velvety palate
This is the typical Valpolicella Classico Superiore wine, made according to the best traditions and with all the characteristics of Tedeschi Family wines: good structure, delicate flavor, elegance. The grapes come from vineyards located in the Classic Valpolicella zone. Once vinification is complete the wine is left to age for approximately 2 years in oak barrels before it is bottled. During this ageing the wine acquires a balanced structure, new aromatic contents and its coloring substances are stabilized. Once it is bottled it is refined in the cellars for a further 6 months before it is placed on the market. Strong ruby red coloured wine with an ample and complex bouquet showing notes of cherry, raspberry and red currant that give freshness to the wine. Fruity, well-balanced and well-structured with the alcohol and acidity in good harmony, the wine is warm and round. The after-taste confirms the character of the bouquet while it has a long-lasting and persistent flavour. (12 x 75 cl)
From a 6-hectare vineyard situated at the heart of Valpolicella Classico, this wine is supple with beautiful balance and plenty of character (12 x 75 cl)
From a 6-hectare vineyard situated at the heart of Valpolicella Classico, this wine is supple with beautiful balance and plenty of character (24 x 37.5 cl)
From the 3-hectare Monte Olmi vineyard and made in limited quantities in only the best vintages, the wine has wonderful concentration of rich fruit flavours balanced by a firm, herbal-toned, bittersweet vein (6 x 75 cl)
Seven gentlemen, on august 23, 1933, set an appointment in the offices of Francesco Betteloni, notary public, to sign the deed giving birth to the Cantina Sociale Valpolicella. Today, the Cantina Valpolicella directs and coordinates the production of approximately 200 grape-growers with vineyards covering a total of 450 hectares. All these are located in the classic Valpolicella hillside zone. All have the same dedication and passion as the original founders. They work together and in their mutual interests to turn member producer's grapes into high quality wines, performing activities that improve winemaking and grape-growing knowledge and culture. The vineyards are situated on about 450 hectares in the classical Valpolicella Hills area Northwest of Verona, which are mostly concentrated in the town of Negrar. The most used system of cultivation is the traditional Pergola system, with about 2,500-3,000 plants per hectare, while the average age of the vines is 20 years. The cultivation of the vineyard has among its primary objectives the maximum possible degree of respect for nature: for this reason, biological techniques are used, and pesticides are used as little as possible. The harvest is done entirely by hand, with many selections for special wines, such as the Amarone, produced from single vineyards to exalt its characteristics. It is a blend of 70% Corvina, 15% Corvinone and 15% Rondinella while the blend is left in both in 225 liter barriques made of French Allier and Never oak and in 50 hl barrels for 18 months. Refinement continues in the bottle for 12 months. A fantastic wine with a garnet red dense and compact colour, the bouquet is strong and persistent, ethereal and fruity with hint of black cherries and dry prunes. The palate is well structured, smooth with velvety tannin. (6 x 75 cl)
Tommasi Viticoltori Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC from Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella Classico by Tommasi Viticoltori Pedemonte di Valpolicella (6 x 75 cl)
From the 2-hectare Monte Fontana vineyard and made only in the best vintages. This wine has a velvety texture and a distinctive sweetness. This wine is made from grapes harvested in various vineyards located on hills in the Classic Valpolicella zone. Different sources and different grape varieties are important to obtain well-balanced wines with the fine structure that only a few single areas in the Classic zone can give. Strong ruby red this wine has notes of vanilla and ethereal airs depending on the period of ageing in the barrel; notes of sweet fruits such as currants, blueberries, cherries depending on the varieties of grape. Showing a strong flavour, rounded and warm in structure, this is a well-balanced wine. The after-taste confirms the notes in the bouquet combined with an enduring and persistent flavour.

A blend of Corvina and Rondinella this wine is made from grapes located in the heart of the classic Valpolicella zone on the Negrar hills, between 200 and 350 metres above sea level, and is made up of terrains of various origins, from calcareous to loamy, from volcanic to alluvial. The harvest is done entirely by hand, with many selections for special wines, such as the Amarone, produced from single vineyards to exalt its characteristics. The selected grapes are dried and vinification takes place at the end of January. The fermentation progresses slowly, thanks to low winter temperatures, until it is blocked by light decanting and filtering, to maintain a discreet amount of sugars and obtain a sweet wine. Dark ruby red coloured wine with an intense bouquet of wild cherry fruit, spice, choccolate and a seemingly endless succession of nuances. The palate is an astonishing combination of unusual structure and sweetness with unexpected suppleness and drinkability. Available in 50cl bottles. (6 x 50 cl)
