Pighin’s story begins in 1963, when brothers Luigi, Ercole and Fernando purchased a 200 hectare estate in Risano, in the Friuli Grave D.O.C. area, which belonged to a noble friulan family. Today, the company vinifies only grapes coming from its own estates at the cellars of Risano and Spessa that are equipped with the most modern and advanced technologies. The Collio vineyards used in making this wine are situated on the south facing slopes of the Gorizia hills, located on the most favourable and sunny hillsides. This Pinot Grigio is a brilliant straw yellow colour with amber reflections and a bouquet that is persistent and appealing, well pronounced, harmonious showing banana and toasted coffee.
