Quinta do Crasto LBV Port Douro
Available in half bottles. The modern winemaking era of Quinta do Crasto dates back as far as 1615, but its Roman ruins suggest earlier viticultural activity. For many years, the vineyard, owned by the Roquette family, sold its grapes to A.A. Ferreira until a revision in shipping laws made it possible for Quinta do Crasto to ship its own Port. It has produced a very dark strawberry red coloured Port, with powerful aromas of dark forrest fruit and earth. Wtih rounded spicy, plumy fruit flavours this wine is complemented by its good length. Quinta do Crasto has produce a 2000 vintage Port with a purple black colour with dark plum fruit and wet earth flavours. Tight and compact, with a long and balanced black plum length. (6 x 75 cl)

This blend of mostly Tinta Roriz, with Tinta Barroca and Touriga Francesa is a vivid red and purple colour, showing intense Douro varietal fruit character balanced with well-integrated American oak. It has a full, rich flavorsome palate with great depth of concentrated mature berry fruit, well balanced with soft, ripe tannins. . Spicy herby nose is quite brightly fruited. Juicy berry fruit on the palate with some attractive savouriness. (6 x 75 cl)
