Chandon GREEN POINT Shiraz RESERVE Yarra Valley Victoria

This wine is a selection of barrels exhibiting the finest Chardonnay flavours from the vintage. This outstanding vintage produced a fresh Chardonnay with fruit characters of pear and melon. These fine, lingering and restrained characters are enhanced by 50% new French oak barrel fermentation, 25% MLF, and ageing on yeast lees for 15 months. A finely structured Chardonnay with elegant fruit and subtle complexity which will reward cellaring. (6 x 75 cl)

The Chardonnay shows typical Yarra Valley varietal characters of white peach, melon and custard apple with citrus highlights. Fermentation on grape solids, the use of wild yeasts and 30% MLF add complexity to the primary fruit characters. The stirring of yeast lees in barrel adds creaminess to the mid-palate, while maturation in 25% new French Oak barriques contributes spice, roasted nuts and vanilla notes. (12 x 75 cl)

A pale straw yellow coloured wine with green tints. Complex aromas of fresh peaches, grapefruit rind and cinnamon combine with spicy vanillin oak. Stone fruit and citrus flavours develop on the palate and are enhanced by a creamy texture derived from 6 months of lees stirring. Subtle flint and savoury flavours extend the palate and provide a lingering, crisp finish. (12 x 75 cl)
