This wine was recently awarded Gold at the International Wine Challenge although Bodegas Trapiche has been producing wine for 120 years. Today, it has over 1000ha of vineyards located at 7 estates throughout Mendoza at altitudes of between 630 and 1000m above sea level. Great care is taken in producing this wine from the manual harvest to the way the grapes are transported to the winery in small plastic crates so avoiding damage. After passing through the sorting table, the lots are crushed, destemmed, and allowed to macerate and ferment individually in small vats. Next the wines are racked into French and American oak barrels and aged for 12 months before being lightly filtered and bottled. This wine is an intense, dark colour with purple hues while the aromas of cedar, spice, and dark forrest fruits are evident. Rich and well structured this Cabernet Sauvignon is both full-bodied and persistent on the palate showing soft tannins with a long finish. (6 x 75 cl)
