Moncao MURALHAS DE MONCAO Vinho Verde Portugal

The cooperative Adega de Moncao started out in 1958 with 25 growers while today they have more than 1,600. Chief winemaker Fernando Moura only uses the finest Alvarinho grapes therefore has a large selection of growers to choose from when making Deu la Deu. This white wine can be drunk early and is a lovely pale colour with citrus fruit aromas. Fresh and bright with citrusy flavours and a hint of cream. (6 x 75 cl)

Just outside Portugal's most northerly town of Melgaco, and on the slopes above the Minho river, Antonio Cerdeira illegally planted 4 hectares of Alvarinho in 1974. Following the necessary legal 'adjustments', he was able to release his first wine in 1982, and is now regarded as not just a leading Alvarinho maestro, but also one of Portugal's top vignerons. Around the village of Alvaredo, the estate has grown to 10 hectares, making a heady 4000 cases per year. This wine is 100% Albarino, or as the grape is known locally Alvarinho, and is showing signs of classic Alvarinho with intense grapey, mango, and passionfruit aromas that introduce a complex array of firm flavours and fine acidity. This wine finishes with a fruity lingering aftertaste. (6 x 75 cl)

Casa de Cello is a family's wine grower business for 4 generations and this wine is a blend of Avesso and Loureiro. This portuguese white conveys the customary pear and apple fruit aromas, with a touch of floral and green notes.
