Description:
Saint Clair is owned by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, two of Marlborough's earliest vineyard pioneers, who planted their first vines in 1978. Grapes were originally supplied to local wine companies. However, a desire to extend the quality achieved in the vineyard through to the finished wine, led to the establishment of Saint Clair Estate Wines.
The Saint Clair name originates from the main vineyard property, which was originally settled by the 'Sinclair' family. James Sinclair built one of the first homes in Blenheim and was closely associated with the development of the early town. With the passage of time the name reverted to the original, Saint Clair.
The Saint Clair label, designed by Graphic Designer Tony Ibbotson of Sydney, depicts the golden glow of the hidden Marlborough valley with the halo silhouetted above.
A blend of the aromatic quality of the Wairau combined with the weight of the Awatere Valley in Marlborough to give a well-rounded and fresh wine.

The Tuatara Bay Pinot Noir is a modern fruity styled wine. (12 x 75 cl)
This is a rich wine showing creaminess on the palate from partial fermentation and maturation in American oak. While enjoyable when young, it will continue to develop complexity for up to 5 years (12 x 75 cl)
Grown on the Saint Clair vineyard at Rapaura, one of the warmest sites in the district. The wine shows plummy fruit with blackberry nuances and delicate spicy oak (12 x 75 cl)
Saint Clair's first wines were only produced in 1994, but their reputation as one of New Zealand's leading wine companies with an exceptional quality record is growing fast. The Fruit exclusively selected from the Wairau and Awatere valley vineyards and once in the winery the wine is aged on lees for 14 months. This has produced a full bodied Pinot Noir with a softly textured palate and well balanced acidity. Black berry fruit and ripe cherry flavours dominate this wine and are supported by notes of plum, mushroom and redcurrant. (12 x 75 cl)
