The 10 hectare vineyard is uniquely situated facing south on a dome shaped hill overhanging the bank of the river Sevre and close to the confluence of the Sevre and the Maine. The vineyard itself looks like a little island and is surrounded by natural coppice. This enables the site to be managed ecologically, fighting pests and deseases with natural methods. Pests are treated with specific hormones so they cannot breed and mildew is only fought with Bordeaux mixture. Part of the harvest is picked by hand and the vines used are over forty years old. The wine follows the traditional method of maturation on the lees and the 'batonnage' process to develop aromas and complexity. All the wine is estate bottled in the Spring following the harvest.
