Description:
Canard-Duchene GRANDE CUVEE CHARLES VII Rose Non Vintage Champagne from France, Champagne by Champagne Canard Duchene Ludes Montagne de Reims (12 x 75 cl)
Created to mark Canard-Duchene's centenary in 1968, the Grande Cuvee is named after King Charles VII of France who was crowned in Reims Cathedral by Joan of Arc. Sourced from the most prestigious Crus of Champagne, this is a blend of three exceptional vintages. The subtle bouquet has floral and mineral qualities, and the acidity is beautifully balanced by the richness of the fruit. "Canard-Duchene was a surprise because it has quite a developed nose combined with a lively, racy lemon dominated palate, good depth of flavours and a very fresh finish. From the price point of view it is great value." . (12 x 75 cl)
Appearance: golden- yellow with fine beading bubbles. Nose: Complex bouquet with aromas of cooked and crystallised fruit and a touch of spice. Palate: Powerful and structured in the mouth with black cherry flavours ending in a spicy, cooked fruit finish. "A deliciously rich and creamy champagne." (12 x 75 cl)
Appearance: salmon colour, beautiful pearly bubbles, fine mousse. Nose: intense, fresh fruit aromas, especially of cherry, with mineral and toasted characteristics. Palate: a powerful full-bodied wine yet surprisingly silky, because of its maturity, with flavours reminiscent of crystallised fruit. Canard-Duchene Brut Rose is a pleasant accompaniment for red meat or red berry desserts. (12 x 75 cl)
Blended from three grape varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay about 70% of which are from the black grapes, which give the rich fruit and full character to the Champagne. It has a very fine mousse and intense, fresh fruit aromas, followed by a delicious, fruity and very approachable palate. "Canard-Duchene is one of my favourites. It has a light, vivacious fruit, bready and beautifully balanced." David Courtenay, Bath Evening Chronicle. (24 x 37.5 cl)

Made from grapes of a single harvest, and aged for five years to give the wine time to develop its complexity to the full. The vintage has a higher percentage of Chardonnay than the non-vintage, which gives finesse and elegance without masking the fruity character of the Pinot. The fine bouquet is reminiscent of vanilla, citrus fruits, and the palate is full and generous with honeyed, spicy characteristics. (12 x 75 cl)
