Château de Maligny is owned by the Durup family. There have been Durups living in the village of Maligny since the 15th century. Jean Durup's great grandfather tended the vines of the Château Maligny for 30 years at the end of the last century. Since Jean Durup took over the family Domaine all oak has been banished from the spotless tiled Durup cellars. Wine is kept in cement vats lined with fibreglass and also stainless steel storage tanks. Apart from refrigerating the wines to remove tartarate , the wine is given the minimum amount of treatment to retain maximum character of the soils in Chablis. The result is a very consistent, successful fruity, almost flowery Chablis. with a fresh and flinty taste, exactly the correct character of the terroir. (12 x 75 cl)
Guy Mothe built up the highly successful Domaine de Colombier by starting with a tiny holding and then acquiring small parcels of land that came up for sale over the years culminating in 33 hectares of vineyards. Most of the vineyards are dedicated to the production of AC Chablis, although there are significant holdings in 1er Cru Fourchaume and Grand Cru Bougros. The straight Chablis benefits from vines on the Grand Cru side of the river, giving them a buttery richness that balances their natural acidity. (12 x 75 cl)
