Domaine de la Belliviere EPARSES Vieilles Vignes Blanc Coteaux du Loir

Produced from fruit in Coteaux du Loir, Vieilles Vignes Eparses is produced from vines aged over 50 to 80 years. Using only Chenin Blanc and aged atleast one year minimum in barrel, this pale gold coloured wine is both limpid and brilliant. The nose is rich, harmonious and fine, smelling quince and rhubarb, while it has a lively and fresh attack. Mouth persisting, round, enrobed, complex and rich, presenting aromas of honey and fruits reminding those smelt by nose. A medium dry wine. (6 x 75 cl)

L' Effraie is a wine produced from vines aged under 50 years. From the Coteaux du Loir appelation this white wine is 100% Chenin Blanc grown in vineyards that have a clay with flint on tuffeau composition. The had picked fruit spend one year minimum in barrel once in the winery and this has produced a pale gold coloured wine. Floral fruity nose, perfumed with pear, magnolia and hints of rhubarb it is very well structured mouth, with flavours of passion fruit and persimmon, and notes of pale wood. The finish is very long on pear and peppermint. Available in 50 cl Bottles. (6 x 75 cl)

Haut-Rasne is a wine produced from young vines on one soil called Haut-Rasne, in the parish of Chahaignes, it is very sheltered and particularly suited to noble rot. From the Coteaux du Loir appelation, this 100% Chenin 100% is manually harvested and aged in barrels over the period of about for one year, while the final balance is the work of nature. A wine that explodes from the glass with orange liqueur and gardenia perfume, it fills the mouth with glycerin-rich waves of apricot, white peach, diverse citrus, and wafting florality, then finishes with subtle mineral shadings, perfectly judged sweetness and incredible polish, lift, and poise. Straw colour with greenish hints this wine has a powerful and expressive nose, exhaling lemon and green apples. The attack is vivacious with nuances of lemons while the mouth is rich and balanced, supported by the flavour of green apples. Mineral finish. (6 x 75 cl)

This well made red uses the Pineau d'Aunis grape and offers aromas of sour cherry, almond, and fennel. Bright and juicy yet also dense and creamy on the the palate, with rich black cherry fruit it has an invigoratingly tart fruit skin edge and chalky undertone. This wine practically explodes with concentrated bitter black cherry, plum, and herbal elixirs in a finish also marked by a continued counterpoint of creaminess with subtle chalk and fruit skin astringency. Le Rouge Gorge is a homage to this small bird which appears in spring and celebrates the Pineau d'Aunis grape variety. From the Coteaux du Loir appelation the fruit comes from vines aged 25 to 45 years. After the manual harvest the grapes spend one month in vat for alcoholic fermentation, breaking the cap, systematic blending of free run wine with press wine and natural malolactic fermentation in recent barrels. Hommage à Louis Derré is a wine created in 2000 and produced from vines of over 80 to 100 years. This wine combines the usual work of extraction with the concentration and the complexity due to the age of the vines. Using only Pineau d'Aunis fruit it is aged in the winery over the period of 1 year in 3-5 year old barrels while the final balance is the work of nature. This wine displays ripe fresh black cherry along with smoky, meaty and wet stone aromas. Deeply rich cherry fruit mingles with concentrated bitter chocolate and black tea on the palate, revealing mysteriously meat and mineral dimensions, along with the structure and concentration.
