An extraordinary wine using the Wildbacher grape it is aged for 20 months in 500 litre oak, 50% in new barrels and 50% in 1 year old barrels before bottel age for a further 12 months. This has produced an intense ruby red wine showing spicy loganberry fruit on the nose and palate. Concentrated, full bodied with obvious tannins it is well structured through to the persistent aftertaste. (6 x 75 cl)

From Prosecco grape and aged 20 months in small oak barrels comes this bright golden clear coloured wine. Intense notes of candied fruits and citrus are evident in the aroma while hints of aromatic herbs as well as spice can also be found. Tasting Notes This is a barrique-aged red wine of notable vigour and length. The wine has a cherry red colour with lively highlights which turn to garnet-red with ageing. The nose has pronounced herbaceous notes which are balanced and softened by the oak. Attractive and gentle on the palate with integrated notes of sage and green pepper. Concentrated tannins with spicy, minty notes. Grape Varieties 80% Cabernet Sauvignon & 20% Cabernet Franc Maturation and Vinification The grapes for this wine are picked between September and October, they are immediately transferred to the winery for fermentation which lasts for approximately 3 weeks. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with frequent pumping over in order to get the best extraction from the grape skins. The wine is then aged for between 15 and 18 months in new and second use barriques, it then undergoes a further 2 to 3 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling and spends around 6 months in bottle before release. Owned by the Zenato family, the Santa Cristina Estate is located in San Benedetto di Lugana, approximately 25 kilometres west of Verona on the banks of Lake Garda. The Estate encompasses 40 hectares of vineyards located in various prime sites in the Lugana DOC production area, some of which can be dated back to prehistoric times .
